Rules

The=20 regatta will be governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing for = 2009-2012=20 (RRS) as changed by the:

RRS=20 Appendix E, this Notice of Race (NoR), the Sailing Instructions = (SI), the=20 IOM class rules, The Equipment Rules of Sailing (ERS).

The=20 Sailing Instructions shall prevail in case of conflict with this = Notice of=20 Race. The English language version of these documents shall=20 prevail.

Eligibility

Competitors shall = comply with=20 the requirements of RRS = 75 and=20 the additional requirements of the following=20 clauses.

Any competitor in = the=20 Championship shall be a national or a permanent resident of the = country of=20 the Member NCA that is entering him / her.

A permanent = resident is=20 defined as someone living in the country for which he /=20 she

wishes to sail, = for at least=20 nine months of the year prior to the initial closing date=20 of

entry for the=20 event.

Competitors from = other ISAF=20 member countries where there is no Member NCA may be invited to = enter The=20 Nordic IOM Championship

Registration/Measurement

Boats, together with their valid measurement = certificates shall=20 be presented for registration before its first start. However, the = Race=20 Committee may extend the time for registration and event = measurement if=20 there is a valid reason to do so. No boat shall be eligible for = racing=20 until it has been registered.

All=20 boats may be subjected to event measurement. However the race = committee=20 may accept boats without a valid certificate, after an event=20 measurement.

Notices to=20 Competitors

The Official = Notice Board will=20 be situated in front of the sailing area.

Notices to = competitors will be=20 posted on the Official Notice = Board.

Scoring and=20 Racing System

The races will be carried out = in=20 accordance with the HMS 2007. =20

Maximum number of entries are=20 54

There will be no more than 3 heats.
With maximum = no of=20 entries there will be 4 boats promoted.
With fewer than 34 = entries 6=20 boats will be promoted

Heat selection for Race 1 will be a random=20 selection

Entries

Entries are made by e-mail through NCA. NCA shall = submit a=20 prioritised entry list

NCA=92s are welcome to enter more than 8 candidates, = however the=20 following will apply when more than 8 entries are = submitted.

Allocation of spaces:

Stage = 1

Each Nordic NCA is = allocated =20 8 spaces

Non Nordic = entrants are=20 allocated 6=20 spaces

Closing date 25. = August=20 2009

Stage=20 2
Available spaces will be = distributed=20 among those NCA's that enters more than 8 = entrants.

Closing date 4. = September=20 2009.

Stage=20 3

First come first = served basis=20 if there still are available spaces.

Non Nordic entries = will not be=20 given additional spaces unless there are available spaces in stage = 3.

Closing date 11. = September=20 2009.

Jury

There may be a Jury consisting of one or more judges. = In case=20 of the absence of a jury each country nominates a prime/second = candidate=20 which will form a jury.

There may be = umpiring on the=20 water. Umpires are free to position themselves outside the control = area to=20 get a better view, and to use the means they feel necessary to = conduct=20 their duties. SI will detail the procedure.

Frequencies

Permitted frequencies are:

27MHz, = 40 MHz and=20 2,4 GHz.

Each competitor is required to have a minimum of 3 = frequencies=20 available.

Sailing=20 area.

The = sailing/control area will=20 be close to Jels S=F8bad.Race area B will be the primary sailing = area with A=20 as the secondary.

Course.

The course will = be a=20 windward leeward with two or one round. Windward mark will have an = offset=20 mark and the leeward mark will be a = gate.

Prizes

Prizes will be given as following: 1 prize per 3 = competitors=20 starting

Liability

All those entering or taking part in this race do so = at their=20 own risk and responsibility.

A social event will be held at Jels Motel & = Sportscenter on=20 the evening of Saturday September 19^nd .

A traditional Danisch serving will be given. Buffet = with=20 all.

There will be an organized lunch included in the = entry=20 fee
